Good Morning! The orange & red dahlias and blanket flowers are fresh picked from my ‘”wedding flower garden”. The multi colored sunflower seeds were planted at my parents house early this summer in anticipation of a fall harvest for Amy & Phil’s wedding. Looks like the timing is working out beautifully! Thanks Mom & Dad! These will be “free” flowers to be used in combination with the flowers ordered from my wholesaler. It’s a really great feeling to be able to stretch the budgets for my brides and grooms. And they will look absolutely stunning in the bouquets, on the arch, and in the centerpieces!

Today is the first day of September and it’s an absolutely gorgeous morning here in Minnesota. One of the first things to do this morning is go out to pick fresh tomatoes from the garden. My favorite are the little cherry tomatoes! Next is to work on my flower order for Amy & Phil’s upcoming wedding. Their ceremony and reception will be held at Gale Woods Farm which is very near to my studio. Although I’m not a “farm” person, I am excited for this wedding as Amy is awesome to work with! In keeping with the fall/country theme, we will be creating bouquets similar to the pictures which Amy fell in love with while looking through my portfolio. I love it too!

Had an absolutely wonderful time last night. Attended Ladies Night Out and Farmers Market in Excelsior MN. One of my favorite places to visit for phenomenal food, atmosphere, and people watching! This was the last night out of the season and the theme (which changes each week) was Mardi Gras. Just as if we were in New Orleans, my friend Renee and I had tons of fun and were donned with party masks and beads.
Excelsior is just a hop skip and jump away from my studio,
and I go there quite often for inspiration. Love it , love it, love it. Very eclectic, elegant and funky shops all co mingled together in one beautiful downtown area. Not to mention the short walk down main street to the piers of Lake Minnetonka.
The port of several gorgeous cruise liners that have hosted many-a-wedding ceremony! Downright breathtaking! It truly is an escape from you’re everyday world. Kind of a step back in time with a modern twist!
