Let the 2012 Wedding Season Begin!

This last week my husband and I visited a favorite Chinese restaurant of ours. We had great conversation and a tasty meal. Of course, with the check comes the fortune cookies which always pique my interest. Snapping open my cookie with just that twinge of anticipation of what the future might hold, I read out loud, “You will do well to expand your business.” I laughed gleefully! My husband groaned just a bit! Please don’t give him the hiss-boo just yet. He really is my biggest supporter and fan but oftentimes he gets pulled into the delivery and set up more than he’d like. He works very hard all week and would rather spend his weekends on the golf course or on the lake than carrying vases of flowers.

But nonetheless, I am so excited as the consultations for the year have begun and Soul of the Rose is truly expanding. We have now partnered with Watermark Stationery, 810 East Lake Street in Wayzata and Bella Bridesmaid on Water Street in Excelsior where we can offer our brides convenient and awesome consultation spaces.

Watermark Stationery also houses Posh Bridal Boutique’s 2nd location with drop-dead gorgeous, and I mean gorgeous wedding gowns. Bella Bridesmaid in Excelsior offers bridesmaid dresses that are so pretty I would love to scoop up every one of them and take them home with me!

P.S. This fortune is being pasted in a place I will see it everyday. Inspiration to the max!!!

This was one of my favorite bouquet of the 2011 season. With a bit of melancholy I think about the season of weddings and warm weather! Although the March weddings weren’t quite as warm!! I adore the Holiday season but I am already excitedly anticipating and working on next seasons weddings.

It has been an unseasonably warm fall and winter here in MN, but snow has fallen for the second time and the cold temps have moved in, so I thought it would be nice to send a little summer bouquet your way in the following photo to give hope that warmer days will be back (hopefully sooner than later.) Finally having a chance to go through and post the photographer”s images. They actually do justice (unlike my own) to the awesome bride and groom-Lisa and Mike, the gorgeous flowers, and the fantastic venue-Rush Creek Golf Course in Maple Grove, MN . It was read at her funeral years later.

50th & France, Edina, MN Bridal Fair

Last Saturday turned out to be a busy day with a wedding to do and then mid-week being asked by Julie Boehm, Marketing Director for the 50th & France Business Association and the Edina Art Fair if Soul of the Rose would provide an arrangement for their upcoming Bridal Fair.

This is what we came up with.

It was great fun to do something totally unexpected and to have carte blanche of our creation. The only criteria we had to follow was that it had to match to the lavender and purple color scheme of the Bridal Fair.

A great time was had by all that attended. My personal favorites were the food and presentations offered by Paperista, (the photo above shows their window display of formal dresses made of paper. How cool is that?) Brides of France, Sweet Retreat, (mmmmm…cupcakes) and Mozza Mia.
